The Portage Creek Bridge has been outfitted with Resensys Sensor systems, measuring acceleration on 16 locations of the bridge, bearing movement and pier tilt, while monitoring temperature at 24 locations and moisture at pier level. The installation has been completed in less than 3 days on site which significantly reduced the system cost. Expected life of the installed sensors is estimated at 20 years. The data collected from the structure will be provided to BC SIMS, a structural health monitoring data repository, operated by the University of British Columbia (UBC).
